Bismillah.

Forty fajr in jama'ah. Miss one, start over.

A 40-day challenge for Muslims who are tired of their own cycle. Five rules. Three levels. The counter is public and so is the reset.

Day 0I go first. Then you.

The five rules

Every rule is yes or no. There is no "mostly".

  1. 1

    Fajr in jama'ah

For brothers, in the masjid if one is within reach. For sisters, at its earliest time. This is the anchor: get this one and the rest follows.

  2. 2

    Five prayers on time

Each in its own window. Not "today", not "later".

  3. 3

    Zero consumption

No feed, no shorts, no series, no 18+. The phone is for work, family and your check-in. Nothing else.

  4. 4

    Quran every day

At least one page, with translation if you need it. Read, not scrolled past.

  5. 5

    Public check-in

Post "Day N/40" with one honest sentence. A photo of the dawn from wherever you prayed. Tag #40fajr.

Miss any rule of your level and you are on Day 1 tomorrow. Say it out loud where people can see. The reset is not the failure. Hiding it is.

Template · Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Story size. Drop your dawn photo in the frame, write the day, tick the rules. 30 seconds.

Three levels. Pick yours before you start.

Islam, iman, ihsan, as in the hadith of Jibril. Each level includes the one below it. You can climb mid-challenge. You cannot go down.

Level 1 — Islam

For the one who prays sometimes and scrolls until 2am.

  • The five rules, forty days straight.
  • + One rule of your own, if you want it: the one habit you know you need to drop

Level 2 — Iman

For the one who holds the prayer but isn't growing.

  • + 20 minutes of memorisation, or one juz of reading, daily
  • + Morning and evening adhkar, complete
  • + One hour of deep work on your rizq, phone off, and 30 minutes for the body
  • + Social apps off the home screen, behind a lock or timer. Opened only to post your check-in
  • + One rule of your own, written in your contract: a habit you're quitting or building. It counts like the rest

Level 3 — Ihsan

"Worship Him as if you see Him."

  • + Tahajjud every night, at least two rak'ah
  • + Fast on Mondays and Thursdays, and the three white days: 13th, 14th, 15th of the Hijri month
  • + Sadaqah every day, any amount, written down
  • + One act for someone else, daily: a call to your parents, a hand to a brother
  • + One rule of your own. The hardest one you've been avoiding

How it runs

  1. Choose a level and say it publicly. Your first post is your contract: level, date, why, and your own rule if you've added one.
  2. Check in every day. Dawn photo, "Day N/40", one sentence. Fridays are for muhasaba instead: what did I do for the akhirah, what for the dunya, what do I owe to Allah's people.
  3. Reset in public. Missed a rule? Tomorrow's post says "Day 1". Once per cycle you may restart one level lower.
  4. Day 40 is the start of the next forty. One level up, counter to zero.

Why forty: the narration of forty days in congregation, catching the opening takbir, recorded by at‑Tirmidhi. Ask your own teacher about it; this page is a contract, not a fatwa.

I'm going first. Start when you're ready.

Leave your email and your level. When the next shared start opens, you'll get the date, the check-in template and the tracker. Nothing else, ever.

Make it a yes-or-no rule: "zero cigarettes", not "smoke less". It resets your counter like every other rule.

Or just start today. Post Day 1, tag #40fajr, and I'll see it.

You're in. Watch @abu.maryam.kh for the start date.
